Liz and I decided to drive up at the last minute to northern California. We went hiking today with her sister and brother-in-law. We're leaving tomorrow at 6:00 or so back to Phoenix. We should get into Phoenix around 7:00 Phoenix time.
Liz and I toured a 2nd hospital tonight and have decided to go with the first hospital we toured. The tour tonight was at a Scottsdale (Snobsdale) hospital complete with valet parking. We've heard that it was always a nicer hospital, but when staff doesn't wait for the back end of the tour to catch up before speaking, that did it for us. They [the hospital] probably isn't worried about not losing customers. The first hospital is closer to the house anyway, so we're happy about picking it. Liz's ultrasound on her kidneys, gall bladder, etc. turn out good. So far everything is very good.
Liz was shooting the video. I wanted to test out the new HD video camera and editing on the computer. I was able to dub some Eagles over the audio as well. Should be really cool making videos later. Anyway, enjoy.
We decided to make a small road trip to Vulture Mine about 20 miles south of Wickenburg (which is about an hour northwest of Phoenix). Vulture Mine used to be an old gold mine and was abandonded in 1942 or so. I was told the old buildings would be great to photograph. Turns our that there was a fee to take the above ground tour and we couldn't get to the good part of the mine. Funny how they call it a "donation" of $7 per person. Wasn't a wasted trip as we got to see scenery I haven't seen before. Since we had to go through Wickenburg to get to the mine, we stopped an ate in the old downtown. After the mine, we decided to make a trip up through Prescott back to the 17, then come home. We hit the square in Prescott where the County courthouse was. I thought layouts like that existed only in the midwest. Was cool to see and very pretty up there among the pine trees. We were suprised at how many hippies were running around the square. One hippie was beating on some sort of congo drums or something.
Anyway, here are some photos...
